If you’re going the right way
If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2Chronicles 7:14
Right in the middle of this verse are two key words, “and turn”. Actually, there are several key words in the verse but those two get my attention this morning, because I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how fortunate we are to be able to turn to God when we need Him. But, it struck me recently, that perhaps at some point we won’t have to turn to Him anymore.
I’m not suggesting we won’t need Him, because I don’t think the day will ever come when we don’t need God. What I’m suggesting is we will one day
not have to turn to Him, because we will hopefully arrive at a point where we never take our eyes off Him.
As for the verse I chose to illustrate my encouragement, it is largely taken out of context these days, but it can still be used to encourage us to seek God and pray for our land, no matter what we might perceive our land to be.
Focusing on God can never be a bad thing, and the more we humbly pray and seek Him, the more peace and hope we will enjoy.
