This morning, my uncle, Sid Newberry, will be laid to rest. Some of you are probably weary of my expounding on the situation, and if so, please accept my apologies. But, this has caused many thoughts to stir, and I am not one to keep them to myself. Celestial Shores

I’m going to post this on the Jingle Poetry  site’s Poetry Potluck today. The theme today is bosses and such, and in all reverence, I want to say my Uncle Sid was one of the best bosses I ever saw in action. He was stern and tough with his family, but I am going to say with all certainty, his foundation was love. I can say this because he raised one fine bunch of children, and they are following in their father’s footsteps by raising up another generation of good people. Behind The Clouds

Twice I’ve stood in the same doorway and said goodbye to someone who’d been an important part of my life. The first time it was my beloved grandpa, Luther “Pa” Stringer that lay in the bed staring up at me with bright yet aged eyes.
