We’ve Got the Power!

When it comes to God’s peace and joy, we have the power to choose how things will, or will not, affect us and how we will react to them.

mountains and valley quote 2

When we turn away from worldly things and meditate on God’s word, we will find Him, and we will know peace beyond our wildest dreams, and love we can’t even imagine. And we will share it with others . . .  because that’s what God wants us to do.

But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:17

Choose Wisely, My Friends

I have come to the conclusion that all things from our pasts have combined to mold us into the persons we are; and the things of today and tomorrow will continue to shape us. In our younger years, we were influenced by parents, teachers, friends, and others. But once we stepped out on our own, we became responsible for our own lives and we began to be shaped by our choices.

We sometimes—too often, I think—regret our choices, and blame ourselves for our lot in life. Other times, we want to place the blame on those who helped form us during those early years. Sometimes… we even blame God.

old men talking (2) quote

Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10

Goodtime Charlie’s Got the Blues?

I’ve sung the blues and it wasn’t much fun, and I don’t intend to spend the rest of my time here on earth being sad.

the blues (3)

We’re going to spend eternity with God, so in the meantime—while we’re in this crazy world—let’s be glad and sing happy songs.

No, sir! Goodtime Charlie does NOT have the blues!

May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. Psalm 67:4
