I’m Your Huckleberry

Do any of you know how much fun it is being me? I mean, I don’t want to sound like I’m boasting, but I love being me. I’m a chunk of coal, a blemished vessel, a box of rocks, you name it; I’m nothing special, but I like who, what, and where I am. And the thing I like best? It’s getting better all the time! I’m Your Huckleberry ~ 7-29-11

From today’s Daily Encouragement:

We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

That’s what I’m talking about! Here’s the thing that amazes me most: He created me just as I am, flaws and all. He could have made me look like a movie star, made me as smart as Einstein and as strong as Hercules, but He already had some of those kinds of folks, and He needed me to be me. I’m Your Huckleberry ~ 7-28-11

Does it take a special occasion or moment to cause you to tell your spouse how much you love them, how much they mean to you, or how much you appreciate them? I’m Your Huckleberry ~ 6-30-11

A few days ago I posted a story, Maybe Tomorrow She’ll Wave!, about a young lady I occasionally cross paths with at the park where I walk the dog each morning and afternoon. I didn’t see her today, but had another interesting and pleasing encounter. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m Your Huckleberry ~ 6-29-11

Focus on the good stuff. I think I’ll hang a sign off the brim of my old hat, so that thought will lead me around all day. Well, when I’m outside anyway. I don’t wear my old beat up hat in the house. But, maybe I should make signs and place them all over the house. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m Your Huckleberry ~ 6-28-11

So how’d my day go? Well, talking to the dog is frustrating. She can’t talk back, and therefore, I’m never really sure if she’s happy with the way I’m doing things. I can usually figure out what she likes to eat, because some things she will devour without coming up for air, and other things she’ll turn her nose up at, and give me a look; a look that if she could talk, would probably say, “Dude! You suck!” Read the rest of this entry »
