Are You Ready For Some Football?

Would you play football without pads and helmet? Not hardly! The toughest men would not consider something so foolish! Even with all the protective gear they sometimes get hurt. Read the rest of this entry »

I Can See!

Sometimes, trying to live a good life is like playing pin the tail on the donkey; you’re blindfolded, spun around until you’re dizzy, and shoved toward the donkey. What are the odds? The thing is, if you weren’t blindfolded, and could focus on the donkey, you might waver and wobble a bit, but eventually you’d get there.

Our Way or The High Way

It’s easy to love people who do things the way we think they should do them and agree with most everything we do. And, it’s also easy to not love those who are not what we think they should be and don’t agree with us. We are quick to judge and condemn and slow to love. Read the rest of this entry »

There Are No Do-Overs

Part of the Plan

Through the ages—it seems even more so today—the question has been asked; why do evil and wicked people prosper? I’m learning to not be bothered by such things. I have all I need, and what someone else has—whether they deserve it or not—has absolutely no bearing on my peace and joy.

And, to be honest with you, the latter part of this verse is of no comfort to me. Knowing evil and wicked people will not spend eternity with the Lord does not bring me joy. My hope is that all men and women will come to believe in Jesus and be saved.

We should not fret or be envious regarding the success of anyone. We should pray for their salvation, and know that no matter what they might do or accomplish, God is using them in His plan.

Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of the wicked, for the evil man has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out. Proverbs 24:19-20
