My Wheels Don’t Turn
But I ain’t broke
So don’t try to fix me
Cause, that’s the way I’m made
Not for the riding
Just for the lookin’ at
No seat to sit upon
And no “petals” to push
But you can look at them
(Please don’t touch)
And though I may not compare
To a shiny red Schwinn
There’s times when
I really show my colors
Yep
Springtime is my time
That’s when duty calls
And I’m the talk of the town
The neighborhood, anyway
I was made for sunny weather
And a little rain
Won’t dampen my spirits none either
In fact
We had a little shower yesterday
And I feel good!
So, I gotta ask ya…
How ya like me now?!?!

Beauty and Blessings
I was just sitting on the back deck, taking a break, when I noticed this scene. Sometimes, we can have something beautiful right in front of us, and we don’t see it. Now, in this case, there was a multitude of beautiful things to look at, but when this came into focus, it made me say, “Wow!” I’m always talking about focusing on the good stuff, but I have to admit it’s sometimes difficult to zero in on just one thing when we’re surrounded by beauty and blessings.
Have a great day!

I am in awe of the sacrifices the men and women of our military have made and continue to make for us. I count each and every one of them among my greatest blessings.

If we slow down, stop chasing our tails, and focus on God and all the good things that surround us, we’ll be enjoy our lives more fully. We see things God has done, we experience his love and favor, but hardly break stride as we hurry through our busy day. Too often, we take the remarkable things He does for granted.
Life is awesome, and, more than ever, we need to “stop and smell the roses.” Let’s enjoy the remarkable things God has given us, and be filled with awe!

Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.” Luke 5:26

Life seems to be a series of seasons, and we have to learn to roll with the good and the bad. Some seasons are better than others, some are really bad, and others are outstanding. Throughout our lives, there will be good times with friends, and there will be battles with enemies, and Read the rest of this entry »

Do you ever wake up in the morning feeling out of sorts, maybe even a little depressed or defeated–for no reason? I certainly do. But, I’m getting better at snapping out of it, and usually chastise myself with a, “Are you kidding me?” Read the rest of this entry »

I put this to poetry, trying to fit the verse to dVerse Poets Pub’s prompt. Take a look, and see what you think!
I put these out this morning and took a couple of pictures; ain’t they beautiful? Most of them were in the backyard until the first freeze, and have been in the greenhouse for the last five or six weeks. Read the rest of this entry »
