If It’s the Last Thing I Do

Sherry and I watch a lot of old, and some new, TV series, and we recently watched one that ended poorly. It was only one season long—ten episodes—and the last episode left many questions unanswered. It was apparent there was supposed to be another season, or more, but for whatever reason, the series was not continued. It was a good show. It was well written, the actors played their parts well, and the story was interesting and exciting. But it ended too soon.

Our lives can be this way, too. We never know when the last day, the last episode, will be. And so, we must play our part well, and live our lives like this moment—every moment—may be our last. Every word we say, everything we do, is important.

April 27 (2) quote 3

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the LORD’s will, we will live and do this or that.” James 4:13-15
