The Truth Is…

It appears truth has become what we want to believe in order to justify our actions. Apparently, the end justifies the means; if a lie gets us the results we want, then it’s our truth. But people aren’t blind; we might fool them temporarily, but they will soon know the truth of our hearts by how we live. It’s been said our children learn more from watching how we live our lives than they learn from what we tell them. I agree.

sunlight trees 2 (2) quote

When we love Jesus, we will live in the light, and He—The Truth—will set us free!

If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don’t tell the truth. 1John 1:6

Have You Got Time?

Tulip trees quoteIt’s not true for everyone, but in this country, most of us have plenty of everything. In fact, we have so much we take it all for granted. And yet, we often complain.  I sometimes catch myself grumbling when things aren’t perfect, or I want something I can’t afford. “Want”, being the key word. The reality of it is I have everything I need and more! I have more than enough to eat, a house that’s too big, two nice vehicles that are always full of gas, and I can hop into either one and go just about anywhere I want to go any time I want to.

So your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine. Proverbs 3:10

Turkey All the Time!

The grocery store we shop at sells fully-cooked turkey breasts in their deli section, and every now and then, Sherry and I will buy one and fix a Thanksgiving dinner. We did so a few days ago, and it was delicious! But more than just the wonderful meal, it gave us pause to think how blessed we are that we can celebrate and give thanks on not just any day, but every day. We are blessed, and our joy is boundless.

No matter your circumstance today, I can assure you the Lord is good, He loves you, and His love endures forever; He will never leave you, nor forsake you, and His faithfulness continues through all generations.

Thanksgiving is not a one day thing, it’s an every day thing!

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100

Let’s Color Our World!

I believe the thing God desires most is to be loved by us, and when we love Him and His love is shared with others through us, it gives Him great joy. It makes me think of those maps we see on cell phone commercials; you know, the ones with maps colored to show all the areas the provider’s service covers. I think God has a map of the world, and He wants to see every inhabited space colored with His love. And, each time another space is filled He celebrates because it means another believer is spreading His love. You would think the whole world would be covered by now, but sadly it isn’t. So:

I’m Sure

I can’t even imagine all the things Jesus did that we don’t have a record of. The story of Jesus, as told in the Bible, is a condensed version of His life, and I’m quite sure He did many more miracles than are documented.

BELIEVE IT!

day 2 - 6 QUOTEWhat would this world be like if God wasn’t in it? Well, think on this: If God were not in the world, love would not be in the world.

Yes, there is evil and greed, murder and mayhem, but there is also love. God is here. And He is in control. I know, especially when bad things happen, we sometimes wonder how God can be in control. But it is at those times we must turn away from the bad, and focus on the good—God and His love for us.

I believe we can go boldly into each day without fear, knowing our God goes into the day with us to fight against all that will come against us, and… He will give us victory.

Believe it!

… For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” Deuteronomy 20:3-4
