Like a Dog Chasing its Tail ~ December 8

Like a Dog Chasing its Tail

What will happen if it catches it?

May my lips overflow with praise, for you teach me your decrees.  Psalm 119:171

I can truly relate to this verse because as I learn more about Jesus and His love, I am more and more in awe of Him, and as a result, I praise Him more.

Loving God is like a dog chasing its tail; as I learn more about God I love Him more, and the more I love Him, the more I want to know about Him. It’s a continuous whirling event full of joy and excitement. Sometimes I think God’s love for us is so complete and so awesome, our minds and hearts will never be able to fully grasp it; when we come face-to-face with it, will we simply be overwhelmed and consumed by it.

My lips cannot help but overflow with praise for God. It seems to me I have gone past the point of no return and have learned too much about Him. I’ve come too far in my desire to know Him, and there is no turning back. He has taught me enough about His love so that I cannot stop my pursuit of it. I am in awe of its vastness.

I think… I’m about to catch my tail!

  4. What a truly wonderful post and a perspective that I would never have thought about alone. I had gotten away from my Bible for some time. Then, the desire to read it became not only a need but a desire for more, more, more. The same is true of God’s love!
