Shall We Dance?

Most of us spend too much time wondering—if not downright worrying about—where we are going, and far too little time enjoying where we are. Compounding this life error, we often dwell on and/or magnify the negative aspects of our lives, and ignore and/or diminish the value of the positive things we enjoy each day.

I saw a little girl yesterday, and I marveled at the sheer joy she exhibited as she literally danced around in her front yard. The little girl’s life probably wasn’t joyful all day, which only served to illustrate that in spite of disappointments she may have experienced—perhaps even moments before coming outside—she was, in that moment, filled with joy and happiness.

shall we daance

In Matthew 18:3, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Where Have You Been?

We’ve each lived a very unique life, and what we’ve heard, seen, and experienced throughout our lives has brought us to where we re now. We are who we are because of all that’s transpired in our lives, and there is nothing we can do to make ourselves be someone other than who we are at this moment.

What we can do, is focus on God, and allow Him to use us in His plan, in spite of, or maybe because of who we are. God reaches each of us in a unique way, and will use our individual personalities and abilities to encourage others to understand His love and will for their lives.

As I stumbled and rumbled through life, I seldom had a clue where I was headed, and:

Believe me

I’ve come to realize though, all the things I did before—good or bad—were leading me to where I am. And I’m sure glad to be here.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; Proverbs 3:5

He’s Alive!

I spotted this critter sneaking around the yard this morning, and I got a distinct feeling he was hiding something.

A day early?

A day early?

Easter is a fun time for the kiddos, and a great time for being with family, but lest we forget the reason we celebrate, I’d like to encourage you to ponder the lyrics to one of my favorite songs:

RISE AGAIN

Go ahead drive the nails in My hands,
Laugh at Me where you stand.
Go ahead, and say it isn’t Me,
The day will come when you will see,

‘Cause I’ll rise again.
There’s no pow’r on earth can tie Me down.
Yes, I’ll rise again,
Death can’t keep Me in the ground.

Go ahead mock My name,
My love for you is still the same.
Go ahead and bury Me,
But very soon I will be free.

‘Cause I’ll rise again.
There’s no pow’r on earth can tie Me down.
Yes, I’ll rise again,
Death can’t keep Me in the ground.

Go ahead, and say I’m dead and gone,
But you will see that you were wrong.
Go ahead, and try to hide the Son,
But all will see that I’m the One.

“Cause I’ll come again.
There’s no pow’r on earth can keep me back.
Yes, I’ll come again;
Come to take My people back
Yes I’ll come again;
Come to take My people back

Lyrics from Ray Boltz’s, Rise Again

Flags, Flowers, and Reflections

Do you ever wake up in the morning feeling out of sorts, maybe even a little depressed or defeated–for no reason? I certainly do. But, I’m getting better at snapping out of it, and usually chastise myself with a, “Are you kidding me?” Read the rest of this entry »

There’s No Need To Turn Back

If you’re going the right way

If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2Chronicles 7:14

Right in the middle of this verse are two key words, “and turn”. Actually, there are several key words in the verse but those two get my attention this morning, because I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how fortunate we are to be able to turn to God when we need Him. But, it struck me recently, that perhaps at some point we won’t have to turn to Him anymore. Read the rest of this entry »

We’re In Good Hands!

And no one can change that!

It’s sometimes hard to believe, but we are chosen by God, and He will never leave us or forsake us. I know there are times when we wonder if that’s true, but when we focus on God and His word, we will see His hand reaching out to us, always there to pull us out of the world and into the safety of His love.

One day, our relationship with God will be so strong we won’t have to turn back to Him when something goes wrong, because… we’ll be looking at Him all the time.

it seems

My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. John 10:29

Peace Is the Key

If we must want something, “peace” is the one thing we should desire above all else. Peace is the key that unlocks the door to joy.

You Can Run…

But not fast enough!

One of our many blessings!

One of our many blessings!

When our focus is on God and how incredible His love for us is, we cannot outrun, nor can we contain, the blessings He heaps upon us!

It’s Here…

The Next Page
